Michelin star chefs Josh Eggleton and Sam Moody and Thornbury’s Romy Gill will give live cookery demonstrations at Backwell Festival on Saturday July 12th, showcasing the skills and secrets behind their signature dishes.
The festival features a Chefs’ Tent where stellar cooks Josh Eggleton, from The Pony & Trap at Chew Magna; Sam Moody, Executive Chef at The Bath Priory; and Romy Gill, Owner and Head Chef at Romy’s Kitchen, will deliver a number of delicious recipes.
Building on its phenomenal success last year, Backwell Festival is delighted to welcome two of the South West’s best culinary experts into the festival kitchen. The insatiable Josh Eggleton recently competed on BBC 2’s Great British Menu, while Sam Moody, awarded a Michelin star in 2012, is well known for championing the fantastic flavours of simple, natural food. Romy Gill, recently nominated for the Asian Woman of the Year award, has succeeded in her alternative Indian delicacies at her Thornbury restaurant.
Seats in the Chefs’ Tent are free, but limited capacity means that festival goers are strongly advised to pre-book online to secure a place.
Elsewhere at the festival, the immensely talented Celestine – recently featured on BBC One’s The Voice – is guaranteed to get everyone dancing, and main stage headliners Doreen Doreen will bring party pandemonium to a climax. The festival line-up offers two stages of continuous top live music, free dance, music and circus workshops, samba performances, a healing tent and classical children’s entertainment including bouldering, face painting and a caricaturist.
