Six months after opening in Portishead, Venga Tapas in the High Street is enhancing its already popular dining experience by opening The Venga Garden.
The previously overgrown garden has seen a major facelift in the last few months, transforming it into a cosy and intimate addition to the tapas restaurant. Mike Yeatman, co-owner with his wife Chris, commented, “We have been blown away by the support from the town over the last six months, and are extremely excited to be adding The Venga Garden to the restaurant”.
The garden brings a further Mediterranean feel to Venga, creating a secluded tiered and landscaped area where diners can enjoy a relaxing pre- and post-meal drink, amongst intimate nooks with warm ambient lighting. “We have covered and heated seating areas, as well as beautiful garden sofas for outside seating. Guests can relax and enjoy a drink and food from the garden bar, in the Mediterranean summer we are all hoping for.” Mike concluded.
To add a further authentic feel, The Venga Garden menu will be available featuring paella freshly cooked ‘al fresco’ from a large outdoor paella pan at regular intervals during the day and evening.
“The aim of the garden is to add something different to Portishead High Street, where adults can go and relax. During the summer afternoons we will be serving Tattinger Cream Teas, and will hold regular events such as suckling pig BBQs and pinchos nights. Pinchos are small skewered snacks normally served in northern Spain. The garden is also available for private hire, with ‘Rooms at Venga’ above the restaurant for guests to stay overnight should they require accommodation”, added Chris Yeatman.
The couple are excited to be expanding the Venga experience and look forward to serving their unique blend of traditional tapas, diverse wines and a buzzing atmosphere; welcoming new and existing customers who made the first six months such an outstanding success.
The Venga Garden will be open in time for Easter and coincide with the further expansion of the restaurant’s operations and new spring/summer opening hours:
Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday, 6pm-11pm
Friday & Saturday, 12pm-12am
Sunday noon-7pm
Out of respect to their neighbours, The Venga Garden will close at 10pm Friday and Saturday and 7pm on Sunday.
