A new Sunday Brunch Market is coming to the Harbourside as part of the Mayor’s fifth and final Make Sundays Special initiative. The Sunday Brunch Market will offer a delicious selection of dishes from across the globe with a diverse range of stall holders providing the perfect Sunday brunch.

Taking place in the area surrounding the Cascade Steps, along both sides of the harbour, the market will also feature stalls selling arts and crafts, books and local produce as well as walking and cycling tours of the centre, street performers and live music.

“Make Sundays Special” was introduced in June by the Mayor, George Ferguson, with much of the city centre closed to traffic for five special events. The purpose of these events is to give people “the opportunity to roam, to explore and to discover the city on foot or by bike,” according to Mr Ferguson.

The Street Food revolution is catching on quickly in Bristol so the new market will attract plenty of diners hungry for quick, delicious, affordable eats.

The Harbourside is already home to a popular weekend market with 25 regular stall holders every Saturday and Sunday. Both markets are organised by the people behind No.1 The Harbourside, who have been instrumental in regenerating the harbourside mall, an area associated with chain pubs and cheap drinks until recently.

The Sunday Brunch Market will offer dishes from India to Vietnam and the USA to the UK with 12 stall holders including No1 Harbourside, India Massala, Elgreengo Mexican, Meat & Bread, Copoazu Ice-Cream and the Spotless Leopard.

“We hope the Sunday Brunch Market will add to the already vibrant atmosphere down here at the weekends,” said James Coomber, Harbourside Market manager, “You can enjoy a delicious alfresco brunch and listen to some live music before strolling around the harbour to work your brunch off, it’s the perfect way to while away a Sunday afternoon!”

The Sunday Brunch Market will take place on the harbourside on September 29th between 10am to 4pm. For more information visit www.no1harbourside.co.uk/markets.
