A fire broke out just before 7pm on August 14th at The Olive Shed on Princes Wharf, leading to the building being evacuated and cordoned off.
The incident saw three fire engines attending the scene to deal with the smoke that was billowing from the building.
According to a tweet from The Olive Shed, it was underground cable that caused the fire, and the restaurant will be closed until further notice. If you have booked a table for any point in the near future, it’s worth double checking before simply turning up.
Good to see from the tweet, however, that The Olive Shed have retained their sense of humour, tweeting that the “new menu may feature seared tuna and charred pork”.
