As of July 9th, the site of Keith Floyd’s first restaurant will be home to The Wallfish Bistro: a new 50 cover restaurant offering classic bistro food created from the premium bounty of the West Country’s wonderful larder.
Keith Floyd has a connection not only to the premises at 112 Princess Victoria Street, but also to the new owners, who worked for Mark Hix’s Oyster and Fish House in Dorset when they infamously hosted Floyd’s last lunch. Since then, Seldon Curry and Liberty Wenham have also spent time working for Rowley Leigh, Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall, and at Soho’s bustling natural wine bar, Ducksoup.
Say Seldon and Liberty, “The Wallfish Bistro will offer a personal and relaxed style that recreates classic bistro dining with a menu that will change daily. We will also be offering a varied and enticing wine list.”
The menu will feature dishes such as garlic baked snails, Portland Pearl oysters, whole crab and a hanger steak tartare, along with vegetarian options such as the pickled girolle, courgette and goat’s curd salad. There will also certainly be some game birds flying around the menu when the season arrives.
