Some of you may remember that I attended a Peruvian pop up last year at 40 Alfred Place. The lovely Rebecca Delgado from Mamma Llama, the business behind the event, has been a little quiet recently, but she is now back as a classically trained chef to introduce Peruvian food to Bristol.
The next event, taking place on Thursday, June 20th, will be a culinary tour of some of the most popular Peruvian dishes, with a fine dining 6 course taster menu that reads as follows…
Corn Broth
a light, yet rich, Peruvian flavoured infused broth
Purple Causa
a layered olive and caper potato salad using golden and purple potatoes
Mixed Ceviche
a delicious mixed seafood ceviche
Lomo Saltado
beautifully cooked sirloin with a Peruvian spiced tomato, and pisco sauce, served with chunky homemade chips
Suspiro de Limeña
a perfect combination of homemade manjar blanco (caramel) and meringue + dusted with cinnamon
Spiced Sponge
a cinnamon spiced soaked syrup sponge served with a homemade cinnamon and vanilla ice cream
Tickets for the event – which starts at 7pm on June 20th – are £40 per head, with drinks on a BYO basis. All diners will also be given a Peruvian spice pack and a Mamma Llama recipe, so you’ll be able to try something different in the kitchen!
To book, and for more information, simply click here to be taken to the Mamma Llama website.
