The Bristol Good Food Awards has announced the judging line-up for this year’s Local Producers Awards, which includes some of the most distinguished names in the UK food scene.

Michelin-starred chef Martin Blunos, Masterchef winner Dhruv Baker, TV chef and baker Richard Bertinet, Daily Telegraph food writer Xanthe Clay, TV wine expert Susy Atkins, Head Chef of Michelin-starred Lucknam Park Cookery School Hrishikesh Desai, food writer and journalist Kate Hawkings and editor of Bristol Bites and Flavour Magazine Emily Knight will join head judge Angela Mount on 9th May to judge local producers that have been shortlisted through the public voting process.

Public voting is now open on www.bristolgoodfood.co.uk/vote and will close on 7th April.

Rudy Millard from Guide2Bristol, organizers of the Awards, comments: “There are 15 different Local Producer Award categories from Best Local Cheese and Best Local Wine through to Best Local Baker. There are so many fantastic food producers in the South West and we would urge Bristolians to go online to www.bristolgoodfood.co.uk and nominate their favourites. This is YOUR chance to champion the best in the west.”

Head judge and renowned food and wine expert Angela Mount, commented: “The calibre of our judging panel this year really proves what an exciting food scene we now have in Bristol and the South West. I’m really looking forward to tasting a host of local delicacies with them on 9th May.”

Guide2Bristol’s Anthony Bowles adds, “We had over 5,000 nominations in the public vote for local producers last year and hope to beat that this year. All the awards will be presented at our Gala Ceremony on 30th June at the Bristol Marriott.”
