The Kingsmill Lunch Spots tour will be rolling into Bristol on March 20th and 21st to celebrate this year’s sponsorship of the Big Lunch 2013. The tour will travel across eight UK locations to encourage people to nominate their favourite UK Lunch Spot, whether it’s a peaceful park, a spot by the sea or a shady glade. Entrants at the tour site will be asked to nominate their favourite UK Lunch Spot for a chance to enter into a free prize draw to win daily prizes and a star prize, a £1,500 UK holiday voucher.
The tour will be located at Cabot Circus where visitors will be able to grab bite-size samples of freshly made Kingsmill sandwiches, bagels, rolls and pittas and experience one of the specially crafted virtual Lunch Spots to enjoy their snack – either on the beach, in a park or in front of a montage of UK landmarks!
Visitors will be able to nominate their favourite UK Lunch Spot on one of the tour’s designated iPads, where they will be asked to place a pin on their chosen location and explain the reasons behind why they would recommend this location! Those who come down to Cabot Circus can also take part in a quiz for their chance to be entered into a prize draw to win a £150 gift card to spend at Cabot Circus.
While parents nominate their favourite Lunch Spot, children will be able to enjoy the giant sandcastle on the beach, the moving Big Ben in the city and the swaying kite in the park. They will also be able to draw their dream Lunch Spots on the mini blackboards provided by the on-site Kingsmill team.
The national Kingsmill Lunch Spots campaign, which is in partnership with UK tourist boards such as VisitEngland and Visit Wales, launches on Monday 18th March and is being supported by celebrity ambassador and dad of two, Jeff Brazier.
Jeff said: “I’m excited to be working with Kingsmill in the search for the UK’s favourite Lunch Spots and I’m looking forward to finding out the nation’s favourite places to have lunch. We want as many people as possible to get involved by visiting the Kingsmill Facebook page and making their nomination.”
Everyone can head to www.facebook.com/kingsmill to nominate their favourite local Lunch Spot until Monday 15th April. Once all the nominations have been received, a panel of judges made up of representatives from the tourist boards and Kingsmill, will compile a shortlist of the top 25 locations where the public can then vote for their favourite to make up the top ten. Each location featured in the top 10 will be awarded a Kingsmill Lunch Spots plaque and bench to celebrate their status as one of the UK’s best Lunch Spots.
