Monday, March 18th brought with it the opening day of brand new sandwich bar Bristol Brunch, located at 4-5 St. Augustine’s Parade in the city centre.
Formerly the home of sandwich bar Oki Dokis, Bristol Brunch aims to serve “quality local food at affordable prices”. Expect Hobbs House artisan bread, locally sourced meats and cheeses, coffee roasted in Bristol, cakes from fantastic local producer Crumpet Cakes and more!
All sandwich fillings are freshly made on the premises, with a crazy number of options available. Offering both “Banging Breakfasts” and “Luscious Lunches”, the boards above the counter list out all options available, with sandwiches ranging from £2.30 to £4, depending on the fillings. You can also choose from a range of “Jazzy Jackets” and “Perfect Paninis” if you’re after a hot lunch, and salad boxes for just £2.80.
There’s also a “carvery of the day” which really did tempt me when I went in, with March 20th featuring hot roast pork in fennel seeds and chilli with an apple sage jelly on a baguette for £4.
The owners of Bristol Brunch are aware that their sandwiches are slightly pricier than many of those in the surrounding area, but I think we all agree that quality is worth paying for. Decent quality bread and top notch fillings really do make a big difference when it comes to flavour…and the Coronation Chicken sandwich on Hobbs House ciabatta that I chose for my lunch was not only tasty, but enormous – great value for money!
What’s more, they have an opening offer running until April 1st 2013, whereby every sandwich or baguette purchased will come with a free coffee – pick up a flyer inside Bristol Brunch for more information.

Crumpet Cakes are the best!!! So delicious!!
Nice – there are a lack of good quality yet well priced sandwich shops around that area. The only one I can think of is Maximillions who have a queue around the corner at lunch. Shows what a lack there is.
I love St. Nicks but you can't get anything under £4.50 which is just too much for everyday lunches.
