From their annual BBQ and music festival to their pit smoked BBQ joint at St Nick’s, there’s no denying the popularity of the Grillstock brand. And now their empire is set to expand even more…subject to planning.
41 Triangle West could hopefully be home to Grillstock’s second outlet…and a bigger and better outlet at that. Says Grillstock owner Jon, “It’s very much based on what we’re doing at St.Nicks but with the additon of a craft beer bar and some seating. The menu will be wider too! We’ll buy the same smoker that we use at St.Nicks so everything will be freshly pit smoked on site each day with regular specials too.”
Food will be available both to eat in and take away, and you’ll also be able to buy their range of BBQ sauces, rubs and seasonings – plus various BBQ gadgets – to have a go at home.
This is where you come in. The Planning Officers have expressed concerns about the number of food and drink outlets on the Triangle, despite the fact that the unit that Grillstock are planning on taking on has been empty for a considerable period of time. There has been no confirmation as to whether Grillstock’s planning application will be approved or refused, but they are looking for comments from Grillstock fans to support their application. Best of luck to the Grillstock team – please do take a few minutes to help out a great local business!
"This area has a high number of office workers and students. Sometimes quality food outlets are quite over-subscribed at peak hours, leading to long queues. Grillstock should not be lumped in with the various undistinguished burger/kebab takeaways already in the area. It may even attract people to the area where they will continue to shop after a visit."
