Love Food Festival kicks off 2013 with a fantastically warming festival of food love at Paintworks on Sunday 10th Feb. Now in its third year, the annual Valentine’s event has had to budge up a bit this year to make room for two other fantastic food events happening close by.
The food loving festival will provide visitors with the opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day with the family and buy gifts for loved ones or ingredients for that special meal in the huge indoor ‘Love Food Market’. There’ll be a fantastic array to choose from including sumptuous steaks, local chilli sauce, gorgeous cakes, unctuous cheeses, handmade chocolates and some stunning wines. There’ll even be the opportunity to buy one of Maggie’s famous heart shaped pork pies!
The 10th of February also happens to be Chinese New Year so the team have invited some fantastically spicy street food vendors to join the party. Viet Vite will be serving up authentic Vietnamese food such as Pho Ga and Banh Mi and Niangs Thai Snacks will be rocking up with their incredible green curry and chicken satay: locally sourced meat and veg meets eastern spice. They will also be joined by, amongst others, the legendary Gaucho BBQ, Agnes Spencers Jerk Chicken and the lovely folk from Native Breeds with their gourmet hot-dogs.
If that weren’t reason enough to get together for a food celebration it is also Pancake Day on the 12th and they will be running pancake-making sessions so you’ll be flipping brilliant on the big day!
Young food lovers will, as always have a thoroughly enjoyable day in their dedicated area with a whole host of hands on activities such as origami hearts, Valentines cards, Chinese lanterns, paper flower making, face painting, planting, drawing and much more.
With a local cider bar, hot street food, afternoon tea, English sparkling wine, an oyster bar, lively music and a livelier atmosphere, this is a day guaranteed to chase away any winter blues that may be lurking around!
