Michelin-starred restaurant Casamia has become the only Bristol restaurant to be awarded four AA Rosettes. TV newsreader Kate Silverton presented chef proprietors Jonray and Peter Sanchez-Iglesias with their prestigious award at a star-studded ceremony at the London Hilton, Park Lane, on Monday night.
Just three other UK restaurants – Pollen Street Social and 7 Park Place by William Drabble in London and The Pass Restaurant in Lower Beeding – joined Casamia to receive four AA Rosettes for the first time. This highly prestigious accolade recognises the top restaurants in the UK that AA inspectors consider to exhibit intense ambition, a passion for excellence, superb technical skills, and remarkable consistency. They are restaurants that combine the appreciation of culinary traditions with a passionate desire for further exploration and improvement.
There are now a total of 27 restaurants in the UK with four AA Rosettes, including Gordon Ramsay Royal Hospital Road in London and Andrew Fairlie at Gleneagles.
Jonray and Peter comment: “We are just blown away by this recognition. The AA Hospitality Awards is one of the greatest highlights in the industry calendar, attended by some of the best chefs in the world – and to be considered their peers is so humbling for us. It was a real night to remember!”
