After a successful pre-launch trial in August 2012, new restaurant food delivery company FoodCouriers has now fully launched in Bristol.

With a brand new website having gone live on Monday, September 3rd, FoodCouriers aims to provide gourmet meals to Bristol’s hungry diners – and from restaurants that do not normally offer such a service.

Bristolians can already order food for delivery – either online or over the phone – from Old India, The Burger Joint, Kathmandu, Obento, Warren’s Gourmet Burger Company, Rupsha, The Lanes, Kohi Noor and Filini at the Radisson Blu, with Vietnamese restaurant PhoHaNoi also joining the panel in the next few weeks.

“We’re very excited to have finally launched the business”, says FoodCouriers founder Dotun Olowoporoku, “and we were pleased to be able to showcase some great food from the restaurants that we’re working with at our launch party at the Radisson Blu hotel.”

Providing great food to Bristol’s hungry residents is not the only thing on Dotun’s agenda. “We said we’d create jobs…and we have! Since we started, we’ve hired 16 delivery drivers and riders, 3 customer service advisors and an accounts manager – and we certainly see this number growing in the future.”

Unlike many other delivery companies, FoodCouriers pride themselves on their environmental ethics, aiming to complete as many deliveries as possible using sustainable modes of transport. “Most orders within a two mile radius of the restaurants will be delivered by either bike or electric bike”, says Dotun. “Thanks to a grant from the Local Sustainable Transport Fund through Bristol City Council, we are able to buy our first electric bikes to revolutionise the way in which we deliver to our customers.”
