For anyone who can’t get enough of the fantastic array of food and drink that heralds from the UK’s most South Westerly peninsula, the answer is just around the corner. A brand new concept, Cornwall Food & Drink LIVE!, hits the road later this year with its first stop at Brunel’s Old Station in Bristol, on 3rd and 4th November.
The two-day event will highlight just why Cornwall has gained such a reputation as the culinary capital of the coast and countryside and as a destination for food lovers from far and wide.
Featuring the county’s top food and drinks producers and a host of admired Cornish chefs, plus much more, the event will bring the true flavour of Cornwall to the city.
Clotted cream and pasties? Of course! But that’s just the beginning. From award winning ales such as Sharp’s Doom Bar and St Austell Brewery’s Tribute, to champion cheeses such as Cornish Blue and from succulent grass-reared meats to designer-inspired chocolates, Cornwall has one of the richest larders in the world and wants to share its bounty more widely.
Over the two days there will be plenty to delight all ages and tastes. Kids can get stuck in with an array of fun activities with a Cornish foodie flavour. Old and young can have a go at learning the art of pasty crimping and for those seeking the more active side of Cornwall, there will be rowing and surfing simulators.
Headlining in the demonstration theatre is two-Michelin starred Nathan Outlaw, a favourite with audiences of BBC’s Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen. Fellow seafood superstar Mitch Tonks will partner Nathan in an unmissable Seafood Special on Sunday 4th November. Throughout the weekend the stage will play host to numerous other masterclasses, tasting sessions, demonstrations and fun challenges.
Cornwall Food & Drink LIVE! is also a great opportunity for delis, farm shops, pubs, restaurants and cafes to come and take a look at Cornwall’s food and drink treasures and seek out some tasty new high quality products they might not know about. The organisers are offering free tickets to any trade buyers who would like to attend.
Trade buyers are asked to contact Cornwall Food & Drink to request their free tickets. Call 01872 865101 or email info@cornwallfoodanddrink.co.uk.
