This Bristol born and raised chain is excited to announce a spectacular night celebrating the sensational and singular tastes coming from Cuba. Their flavours have always been a staple of the Las Iguanas menu, but this summer, here in their cozy Clifton Las Iguanas on Whiteladies Road, they are proud to spotlight the cuisine of the country with a special three course menu.

The menu feature regional dishes and lush indigenous flavours, with the full menu for the evening of Tuesday, August 21st reading as follows:

 

ON ARRIVAL:

MOJITO – THE DRINK OF CUBA – Muddled mint, crushed ice, sugar, Havana Club rum & fresh lime.

 

STARTERS:

GAMBAS AL AJILLO – Prawns cooked in a garlic, lemon & chilli sauce, on peppery rocket. With chunky ciabatta.

PAPARELLENA – Stuffed potato with picadillo minced beef & chopped bacon. With cumin soured cream.

REMOLACHA ASADA – Roasted beetroot pan-fried with chestnuts, red onion & chilli. Served on crispy greens tossed in balsamic vinegar.

 

MAIN COURSES:

PICADILLO DE CARNE – Ground beef sautéed with onions, garlic, peppers, tomato & coriander, in a light tomato sauce, topped with a fried egg. With rice, corn chips & soured cream on the side.

POLLO AL AJILLO – Grilled chicken strips sautéed in a cumin garlic chipotle sauce. With coriander sauce & a tomato & lemon yogurt. Roll up with garlic tortillas.

PAN CON TILAPIA – Tilapia fillet lightly floured & flaked. With salad, chilli infused tartare & sweet potato fries.

LECHON ASADO – Pig-out on tender slices of roast honey-glazed pork leg served with black beans & cassava fries. Dished-up with roasted tomatoes & mango & pineapple sauces.

SANDWICH CUBANO – Roasted & char-grilled aubergine, green pepper, tomatoes, lettuce, gherkins. With melted cheese served with mixed greens & plantain.

 

PUDDINGS:

GUAVA DE QUESO – CHEESECAKE – Vanilla cheesecake topped with guava jelly & macadamia nuts.

HELADOS – Coconut ice cream with fresh pineapple & coconut whipped cream.

BANANA RUM CUSTARD TART – Creamy custard laced with rum topped with fresh sliced banana & dulce de leche.
