With the excitement of the Diamond Jubilee and the Olympics coming up in 2012, Pieminister have created two brand new pies to celebrate these occasions…
As always, we love the names of the new pies! The Lovely Jubilee Pie is a combination of free range British chicken and a Coronation-style sauce containing mango chutney, sweetcorn and coconut: a great combination of sweet and savoury that is available to buy from late April 2012 onwards.
Says Pieminister’s Tristan Hogg, “Street Parties have made a bit of a comeback in recent years and we couldn’t resist creating a royal pie for the nation’s Diamond Jubilee celebrations. It tastes gorgeous served with good old mash, peas and gravy, but you could also try it with buttered Jersey Royal potatoes and a herb salad, or simply serve with a generous helping of mango chutney.”
Pieminister are also once again running their annual Street Party Prize Draw for a chance to win pies and more for your street – visit their website for more details.
In addition, the well-known Bristol brand have created the Sebastian Cow Pie for sport lovers. British beef steak and beans, slow-cooked in a chipotle and tomato sauce, make for a wonderfully smoky pie with a bit of a kick – this is already one of our new favourites! This pie will be available from early June and throughout this summer of British sport.
Both of these pies, RRP £2.99, are made in Britain, using ingredients sourced as locally as possible to the Pieminister kitchens. They will be available in Bristol’s Pieminister outlets, as well as via their online shop. I think we’ll be stocking up on both as soon as they’re available…
