There’s new life being breathed into one of the empty premises on Whiteladies Road this month – and by a local business rather than a huge chain.
When Chinese restaurant Hotcha opened on Baldwin Street in 2011, it was always intended that they would expand over the next few years. They’re obviously enjoying some success, as they’ll be opening their second takeaway at 99 Whiteladies Road early this month.
The address was formerly the home of a KFC franchise, which closed in 2011.
Hotcha will be opening their new branch on Sunday, April 8th for an invite-only launch party. Existing customers and local residents will have received an invitation through the post, which entitles them to a drinks reception, a buffet featuring their most popular dishes, and lion dancing by way of entertainment.
It’s great that there seem to be signs of a Whiteladies Road revival. Fingers crossed that they do well, and that other local business follow suit and breathe some more life into the area!
