Join us for a wonderful countryside celebration of local food at our stunning Cotswold home. We’ll be putting a spring in your step as we set up camp in the grandeur of this gorgeous 17th century estate. For garden lovers the celebrated spring tulips throughout the West Garden are not to be missed. You’ll be able to marvel at the stunning display on the West Terrace parterre, where 8500 tulip bulbs mingle with hundreds of hyacinths. These stunning flowers are a good enough reason in itself to visit this wonderful National Trust property at this time of year.
We’ll have a gorgeous line up of stalls in our market providing you with a great opportunity to do your food shopping in this lovely setting, with local meat, cheese, fish, vegetables, cakes, jam, chutney, sauces, bread and much more available to buy you can also enjoy talking to the producers and farmers who are very happy to share their recipes and tips on getting the best from your purchases.
Our sizzling food street will delight your taste buds with a great array of global street food. You can enjoy tasty burgers from the BBQ, tantalising Thai dishes, Caribbean curries and other delights all cooked up in front of you using locally reared and grown produce. You can wash all this down with some seriously good local ciders and ales or enjoy afternoon tea from the café with some very tempting cakes and pastries.
Children can enjoy activities such as a story walk, nature spotting, planting, origami, Tai chi and much more in this wonderful outdoor playground. The focus will very much be on the natural world and the vast array of benefits that spending time nurturing, educating and inspiring children with outdoor play can bring.
“I’m really looking forward to continuing our wonderful relationship with The National Trust this year”, says organiser Lorna Knapman. “Dyrham is a great setting for Love Food and the fantastic synergy between our two organisations provides a brilliant platform for an educational and inspiring event. We are also excited to announce the launch of Love Food at our second National Trust property Newark Park ”
Love Food will launch at Newark Park on Sunday 24th June this year with a Midsummer’s Festival. This stunning Tudor property contains elements reflecting 450 years of history. The atmospheric house is lived in and is furnished with an eclectic mix of old and new.
