The Muset By Ronnie celebrates first birthday with events and offers

Spread the love

After a fantastic first year, The Muset by Ronnie is set for an exciting couple of months. In addition to the continuation of the special Cookery by Ronnie showcase evenings, Clifton’s neighbourhood favourite is launching a delicious new lunch menu as well as taking part in Eat Drink Bristol Fashion on the 4th May. Since winning runner up in The Food Magazine Reader Awards South West Restaurant of the Year, The Muset by Ronnie has gone from strength to strength.

Following the success of the restaurant’s first Cookery by Ronnie event in March, the second of these evenings on the 12th April will introduce Rollo Gabb from the Journey’s End winery in Stellenboch, who has matched some fantastic wines to a sumptuous five course menu called ‘The Elegance of Hearty British Cooking’. The menu is crafted by Ronnie Faulkner, The Muset’s chef-proprietor whose impressive resume includes cooking in Downing Street, Buckingham Palace and Highgrove. The evening guarantees Ronnie in the kitchen, putting great emphasis on the finesse and sophistication of each course, while Rollo will talk the guests through each of the paired wines.

Journey’s End is a boutique winery situated on the slopes of the famous Schaapenberg Hills. With several international awards, Journey’s End is regarded as one of South Africa’s top estates. Ronnie’s menu has been created to marry the wines on show with the aim of showcasing the best of British cooking. Dishes include potted shrimp with sour dough bread, succulent beef wellington with fresh spring vegetables and for dessert, sweet and sticky toffee pudding with clotted Cornish cream ice-cream. The evening will start at 7pm and tables can be booked online at http://www.ronnies-restaurant.co.uk/ or over the phone on 0117 973 7248.

The Muset’s newly launched spring lunch menu has the great ethos of buying seasonal local produce from the fish, meat & vegetable markets which is then crafted into an affordable and accessible menu by an extremely gifted and talented team. A warm tray of the famous Hobbs House bread is served with every meal. There is a 25% discount off the fixed price lunch menu until the end of May – Just £12 for two courses and £14.25 for three courses.

Ronnie Faulkner will also be taking part in Eat Drink Bristol Fashion, a pop up formal restaurant in Queen Square which will host 12 days and nights of the best of Bristol’s fine dining in nine large impressive tipis. Eat Drink Bristol Fashion runs from the 25th to the 7th of May, and will celebrate the wealth of talent in the local food scene giving visitors a chance to sample the talents of Bristol’s top chefs.

Ronnie Faulkner is proud to be part of the thriving neighbourhood restaurant community in Clifton, and said, “I am very excited about the forthcoming months at The Muset and I’m really looking forward to working closely with Journey’s End to pair some fantastic wines for the Cookery with Ronnie night.” He added, “It will also be a real privilege to work alongside Bristol’s top chefs in Eat Drink Bristol Fashion”.

After a successful first year trading, next year is tipped to bring much of the same for The Muset by Ronnie.
