Organic Food Festival this weekend…fancy volunteering?

Spread the love

This weekend (September 3rd and 4th), the Harbourside plays host to the Organic Food Festival. Organised by Real Food Festivals Ltd, the annual two-day event  provides visitors with a whole host of things to see, do, try and buy…but they’re also looking for volunteers…

With over 20,000 visitors enjoying the festival in 2010, it’s a huge event. Tickets are just £8 for the weekend (or £4 if you buy via Groupon by the end of Tuesday!), and provide visitors with the chance to meet and buy from over 150 organic food producers, watch celebrity chef demos, listen to live music, buy organic health, beauty, garden and textile products, and have access to plenty of entertainment for the kids. You can see a full list of what to expect by visiting the “What’s On” page of the Organic Food Festival website.

If you fancy attending as a volunteer, however, there are still places available – I’ve signed up to work on the Sunday in the Demo Kitchen. There are various roles available – Demo Kitchen, Kids’ Area and Stage Assistants to name but a few – and they’re looking for volunteers from Thursday through to Sunday.

You can volunteer for as many or as few hours as you like, and will be given food and drink vouchers to use and plenty of breaks throughout the day to enjoy the festival as a visitor too.

If this appeals, simply fill out the volunteer form by clicking here. Alternatively, if you want more details before committing yourself, drop an email to wilkinson.sarah@hotmail.com for more information…
