It’s time to submit nominations for the 12th annual BBC Food & Farming Awards, in which they are “searching for the best, most inspiring food producers, farmers, markets, caterers, campaigners and retailers in a miasma of economic gloom.” Bristolian food lovers should definitely consider nominating some of our many local businesses and individuals who make this city the South West food and drink hub that it is…
All you need to do is head to the BBC Food & Farming Awards website, and submit your nominations for any of the following categories…
- Best Food Market
- Best Takeaway
- Best Food Producer
- Best Drinks Producer
- Best Local Food Retailer
- BBC Farmer Of The Year
- Best “Dinner Lady”/Public Caterer
- Best Retail Initiative
- Derek Cooper Award (about bringing about real change in our relationship with food)
- BBC Food Champion Of The Year
If you own/work for a business that falls into one of these categories, you’re allowed to nominate yourself too 🙂
The closing date for entries is midnight on August 14th 2011, with finalists being notified and listed on the awards website in September, and attending an awards ceremony in November.
Who are you planning on nominating, and why?
