Now in their fifth year, Foodies Festivals were originally launched in Edinburgh to showcase and celebrate the finest regional food, drink and culinary talent. The Bristol Foodies Festival is part of a line up of seven such festivals taking place throughout the UK this summer, and will be held at the Harbourside from June 24th to 26th…
Highlights of this year’s Bristol festival include…
Chefs’ Theatre – Demonstrations from the region’s Michelin starred and top chefs, including Martin Blunos and Mat Follas. Click here for a timetable.
Pop-Up Cook School – Hands on cooking and tasting sessions, with guidance from top chefs and food experts.
Cooking With Kids – Masterclasses for young cooks and their families.
Drinks Masterclass Theatre – Educational, mixing and tasting sessions for visitors, including gin, rum, speciality beer, wine and cocktails.
Speciality And Local Exhibitors – The chance to sample and buy produce from over 100 food and drink producers.
Great Taste Market – A new feature of the Foodies Festival, featuring stallholders whose products have won a Great Taste Award in the last three years.
Restaurant Village – The chance to try dishes from around the world.
Bar Pagoda Tents – Enjoy a glass of bubbly or a seasonal cocktail made by expert mixologists.
The food and drink tastings and masterclasses are included in the ticket price – you simply need to sign up at the registration desk on arrival at the festival. A full schedule can be seen here.
The festival takes place between 12 and 8pm on Friday 24th, 11am and 8pm on Saturday 25th, and 11am and 6pm on Sunday 26th. Tickets are £8 for one day or £10 for all three, with accompanied children under the age of 16 getting free entry to the festival. Details of how to buy your tickets can be found here.
HOWEVER…if you use the code foodies241 when buying, either over the phone or online, you can get two for the price of one (that’s either two one day or two three day tickets). I’ve got mine already, and I can’t wait!
