May 5th, or Cinco de Mayo, is celebrated in Mexico as a commemoration of the Mexican victory at the battle of Puebla in 1862. Luckily for Mexican food lovers, you’ll be able to celebrate in Bristol too, with offers, freebies and new additions to the menu available at two of Bristol’s Mexican restaurants…
Restaurant chain Las Iguanas will have offers available for both diners and drinkers. Head to either the Whiteladies Road or Harbourside branch to enjoy happy hour all night on signature cocktails or a 4 for £10 offer on bottles of Corona.
You can also enjoy discounts on food at Las Iguanas, with 2 tortilla main course dishes for the price of one: choose from fajitas, burritos, chimichangas or enchiladas.
Alternatively, join Mission Burrito on Park Street for their Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Everyone buying a burrito from the company after 6pm on May 5th will receive a free bottle of beer…and if you come dressed as a Mexican, they’ll even give you a voucher for a free burrito on your next visit!
In addition, they’ll be launching a new special burrito filling called Cerdo al Pastor: “pork cooked shepherd-style with guajillo chillies”.
Sounds like a great excuse for a Thursday night out to me… 🙂
