The second of these Bank Holiday weekends gives members of the public the chance to attend one of the second round of open days at Alveston-based Jekka’s Herb Farm: a great opportunity to browse and buy 600+ varieties of organically grown herbs, meet Jekka herself, and pick up some tips and advice…
The herb farm is open between 10am and 4pm on each of the three days, with free tours/talks about the farm beginning at 10.30am and 2.30pm. If you are planning on heading over, click on this link to print off a voucher for a free packet of herb seeds from their lucky dip box!
Berry Blue will once again be the exclusive caterers for the open weekend, serving up a variety of herb-inspired dishes from the on-site cafe. Make sure you take cash if you’re planning on eating – as it’s a working farm with a limited power supply, card payments aren’t accepted.
Cakes and drinks will be served all day, lunches between 12 and 2pm, and sharing platters in the afternoon. The menu looks fantastic – I particularly like the sound of their rhubarb tasting plate! Click here for the full menu for the weekend.
Berry Blue are also giving visitors the chance to win a two course meal for two at Jekka’s Herb Farm, plus a hamper of homemade Berry Blue chutneys and jams, simply by signing up to the mailing list. For a chance to win, all you need to do is print off the voucher below and drop it into their competition box at one of next weekend’s open days. Good luck!
