Spread the love

What better way to enjoy the first of the two upcoming  Bank Holiday weekends than with plenty of cider and a hog roast? Luckily for those who are in Bristol on Saturday, April 23rd, that’s exactly what cider boat The Apple are planning on doing…

Head down to Welsh Back any time between 12pm and 12am on the 23rd and enjoy a cider or two in the sunshine while making the most of the additional entertainment that the venue is putting on on the day. Take part in the World Apple Bobbing Championships or a Blind Cider Tasting Challenge (I know a few people who’ll reckon they’ll do well at this!), and enjoy a hog roast by the river, accompanied by “a day long mashup of the greatest English music of all time – George Formby & Vera Lynn to Madness & The Prodigy”.

In addition, The Apple will be using this event to reveal the results of the Bristol Cider Awards, so make sure you’ve voted! Voting cards can be picked up from any of the venues (“polling stations”!) listed below and handed in for counting at the same venues:

The Apple (Welsh Back)
The Orchard (Cumberland Basin)
The Duke of York (St Werburghs)
The Pipe & Slippers (Stokes Croft)
Bristol Cider House (St Pauls)
The Spotted Cow (Bedminster)
The Windmill (Windmill Hill)
The Cross Hands (Fishponds)
The Brass Pig (Clifton)
The Royal Oak (Horfield)
The Lazy Dog (Ashley Down)
Bristol Cider Shop (Christmas Steps)
