Good news for fans of our favourite regional drink, with the launch of The Bristol Cider Shop on central Bristol’s Christmas Steps…
The venue is Bristol’s first specialist cider shop, and opens its doors at 7 Christmas Steps on Wednesday, December 1st. Passionate about their cider, Peter Snowman and Nick Davis who run the shop have over 50 varieties of draught and bottled cider and perry on offer, all of which are made within a 50 mile radius of Bristol and are sourced direct from farms in Somerset, Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Worcestershire and South Wales. If you’re a White Lightning fan, stick to the supermarkets – all of the ciders you’ll find here are made from 100% juice!
There will be around six varieties on draught at any one time, with customers able to buy a container from the shop (or bring their own) to take away anything from a pint to a barrel…and at this cold time of year, you’ll be pleased to know that mulled cider is on hand to take away the chill.
The Bristol Cider Shop is also a perfect source of gifts for fans amongst your friends and family…items such as cider brandy, chutneys, vinegars, books, t-shirts, tea towels and cider making kits – along with the obligatory Wurzels CDs – should hopefully provide you with some inspiration. And if the choice is too great, then opt for a made-to-order hamper from your choice of items sold in-store. I think I’ll be doing just that…
